Here’s How to Tackle the Idea Backlog Collecting Dust in Your Notebook
Just yesterday I posted this article about how a writer’s notebook can make or break his success.
Well, my notebook currently contains 1,969 notes.
Though I began using Evernote in 2013, the notes didn’t start piling up until I kicked off my writing about 5 years ago. Factor in a handful of notes that aren’t writing ideas, and some quick math tells me that I’ve averaged just under one note per day since using it.
That means if I’m only publishing articles once every week or every couple of weeks, my idea backlog continues to grow since I’m unable to publish faster than my rate of idea generation.
Most people would view that as a good thing, because most people don’t know what to write about.
I say “BAH”.
If you’re a true writer, you have zero problems coming up with ideas. The REAL problem is finding the time and motivation to write and launch those ideas out into the world.
